Joint Press Statement
On the 1st of September 2021, a significant milestone was achieved when seven organisations signed a Framework Cooperation Agreement to create the Changemakers Youth Forum in Budapest. The participating organisations recognise the importance of collaboration and they all share a common understanding of the need to actively promote youth engagement, youth participation and youth leadership. A signing ceremony was held in Budapest, and the event is symbolic of our collective commitment to empower young people on a much bigger scale.
Signatures at the Signing Ceremony:
- GiLE Foundation (Facilitators)
- Pact4Youth Hungary (Co-Creators)
- V4SDG (Co-Creators)
- Erasmus Student Network Hungary (Co-Creators)
- International Diplomatic Student Association (Co-Creators)
- AIESEC in Hungary (Strategic Youth Partners)
- Simonyi Károly Szakkollégium (Strategic Youth Partners)
Following the signing ceremony was a World Café session that related to The Conference on the Future of Europe and a networking event, where the members of the various organisations had the opportunity to network and break the ice for future collaborations.
The Changemakers Youth Forum will be held on October 15th and 16th. Its co-creation will be the first of its kind in Hungary and it is geared towards supporting university students, recent graduates and young professionals. There is an important need to discuss solutions to youth-related challenges, together with the youth, and we should provide young people with meaningful opportunities to share their views, interests, needs and ideas. The forum will integrate skills development workshops into the programme, and it will create a supportive community for Hungarian and international changemakers to come together.
